Welcome to the December edition of Morpeth Mens HC Newsletter, Morpeth MHC would like to wish all of its members and supporters a Merry Christmas and hope you all enjoy the festivities over the holiday period.
Due to the recent bad weather, we have now a few rearranged fixtures coming up.
The 3rd team will play Sunderland 2nds on Saturday 16th December.
Into 2024 and our 1st team will play Stockton 2nds at home on Saturday 6th January, while our second team will travel to Stockton on the same day to plays Stockton 3rds. Please set your availability on TEAMO.
Captains are struggling to get 2 umpires for home games and this is an ongoing problem. We have a relatively small number of qualified umpires and most of them play as well.
Morpeth MHC are appealing to its members to consider becoming a qualified umpire. The club will pay for your course, supply you with a Whistle & Cards and you will also get a free umpire shirt.
Becoming an umpire will give you a better understanding of the game and can also assist in your development as a player.
Please get in touch with a Captain or a committee member for details on how to sign up as an umpire.
All Subscriptions were due by the end of November and as per club rules, any member who has not paid their subs can only play at the discretion of the committee.
If for any reason you have not paid, then please get in touch with the treasurer.
The club held its Xmas party on Saturday 9th December at the clubhouse and it was a very successful gathering of Men and Ladies. We would like to thank Andy Tenwick and Arran O'Mahony for organising the event.
