Mens 3rds vs Tynedale 2

13 January 2024 | Liam Thirtle
Mens 3rds vs Tynedale 2

The clash at Longhirst between Morpeth and Tynedale was nothing short of intense. The action began promptly at 11:00, with Morpeth putting the pressure on Tynedale from the get go. Max securing the first goal around the 25-minute mark in the first half, brilliantly assisted by Andy (or was it Ed? This is up for discussion) Morpeth defence were on point with some great one touch passes playing the ball from the back out towards to the forwards

Morpeth dominated the first half, applying great pressure and leaving goalkeeper Liam with minimal action. Later in the half tempers flared as a Tynedale player received a green card for verbal misconduct. Showing that Morpeth attack was getting to them.

The second half saw Morpeth maintaining their strong start, continuing with relentless pressure until Tynedale eventually cracked, conceding for the second time from Edwin and assist from Andy to extend Morpeth's lead at the 50-minute mark.

The juniors displayed remarkable skill throughout the game, stepping up for Morpeth when it mattered most. As the match progressed Morpeth's strategic play and coordination were evident throughout the game.

Despite Tynedales last performance, we saw a different Tynedale this week, looking a lot stronger but Morpeth's performance proved too much for them on this occasion.

Edwin's exceptional contributions earned him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match. A special shoutout goes to Corey, whose outstanding performance caused havoc in the Tynedale defense throughout the match. Also a shoutout to Andy for his first game as Captain and managed to wipe out an old man who I don’t think was very happy.
